Good to see some more people venting out their frustration on our sorry state of affairs through sensible blogging evryday...
This goes a long way in bringing such issues in the public domain and getting more people of our generation pondering over it.. its perhaps the slowest but certainly the surest way to bring about a change in our social consciousness!

Being a girl who can read and write I guess thats the first thing you should have done... I have been robbed off 300 Dollars.. So i now know what I should be doing when I lose my wallet :)

I know this is way out of place, but maybe the police were using recycled paper ;)

And again, the way they treat ppl is not really justified, but I will agree that for the country and the population, they are not that bad after all!!

PS:: This just shows you are watching a lot of movies and the tamil serials..

Come on Swetha...set the example... quit intel. Crack the indian civil service examination... become an IAS or IPS officer and change the system... what say ? :)

I don't know who he is, but i PERFECTLY agree with Mr Srinivasan here.

It's so easy to lambast the cops. I perfectly understand the ordeal u n ur frnds have been thru. I've been in one such situation - sitting in a police station of a state whose local language I had no clue of, desperately trying to negotiate a 500 rs bribe down to a cheaper amt.

Thats the way it is yaar. When a so-called well educated person like you or me didn't bother to enter the political or bureaucratic system and clean it up, why expect someone else to do it?

Why ask for other anbuchelvans or chelvis... become one yourself... set the example !

They are a bunch of " " " " and you can't expect anything to be done with them. The best solution is keep your things safe! My strong feeling is that these things can never change, no matter what we do to change them.

Here is an exactly opposite situation.I remember an episode of "Beach Patrol" where a guy calls up 911 to complain that somebody stole his "towel" from the public laundry facility. An officer arrives at the scene and takes the complaint about the color,size and other description of the towel. The cop then passes the message over the phone to other cops to watch out for people using a "white towel" along the beach, stop them for enquiry.
This is a real incident.

Bt the post is very cynical, frivolous and superficial
(I am a harsh critic)
Certain hitches:
1. You could deactivate the card by furnishing personal details with the bank rather than haranguing with cops
2. Law and order is still maintained in India in spite of your calls of anarchy
3. What you sow is what you reap!!
If you would be willing to cuff up and become a cop, and may be convince your friends, things can become better
Everything works in cycles. The best talent is attracted naturally where pay is more. So when the cops get paid more, which btw can happen only when crime reaches top of the agenda, will talented people be attracted to the police force.
(Nd for godsake, above(maithreyi) who wants to fire a station. Seems like straight outta movie)
